Clara Haskil gilt als eine der größten Klaviervirtuosinnen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ihr grenzenlos freies Spiel überzeugte durch eine unglaublich vitale Klangfülle: Dirigenten wie Christian Zacharias, Pianisten wie Michel Dalberto oder Eliane Reyes, Freunde wie Eugène Chaplin und der Maler Michael Garady sowie der Musikkritiker Alain Lompech erinnern sich an ihr Talent und ein Leben, das voller Musik, aber auch voller persönlicher Prüfungen und Drangsal war.
