Mali – Algerien – Libyen – Italien. Zehn Jahre dauerte Issas Flucht von Westafrika auf das europäische Festland. Doch nach seiner Ankunft in Rom wartet einzig ein Leben in Obdachlosigkeit auf den jungen Mann. Ein ähnliches Schicksal teilen Drissa und Sekou, die in italienischen Asylzentren auf eine Aufenthaltsbewilligung warten. Oder Bubu, der sich von Job zu Job hangelt und unfreiwillig weiterwandern muss. Und da ist Alassane, der in einem Flüchtlingscamp nahe Rom ohne Dokumente in völliger Ungewissheit lebt. Sie alle finden sich nach einer zermürbenden Odyssee desillusioniert in einem Vakuum des Wartens wieder. MIRAGGIO hält ihr Dasein in der Schwebe fest. Ein so emotionaler wie dringlicher Kommentar zur Situation von geflüchteten Menschen in Europa.
