Story

KALARI KID tells the story of girls and women who are reclaiming their place in society through courage, discipline and the power of a martial art dating back thousands of years.
The film is a moving and inspiring portrait of female self-empowerment, as well as social transformation and solidarity.

In India, a land of spirituality and beauty, young women show us how they are driving social change. Arushi, Milena and Dr Binny are at the heart of the film; they are fighting for a self-determined life. In a country where violence against women is part of everyday life, they are role models for many young people – a generation that is questioning traditional gender roles and forging new paths.
